Eat moves to Google Apps for business with CTS

Restaurant group turns to Google for email & applications

UK restaurant chain EAT. with more than 1,700 employees and over 100 stores  has successfully transitioned from Novell GroupWise to Google Apps with help from Cloud Technology Solutions, gearing up for an aggressive expansion plan.

Although with GroupWise common issues such as unplanned downtime, worms or virus attacks were unheard off, long release intervals between versions meant our users waited years to interact with latest productivity tools. Furthermore, upgrading servers and client software has always been a very costly and time consuming process.

Explains Cesar Ramanauskas, Systems Engineer at EAT.

Google Apps collaborative approach to communication in addition to it’s highly scalable and secure environment met all our requirements.  Key steps in the transition from seamless email and calendar migration to individual contacts and groups were performed with the help of Cloud Technology Solutions migration tool.

We chose to work with Cloud Technology Solutions because of its experience with migrating GroupWise email systems over to Google Apps, and using the migration tool, we were able upload terabytes of data and hundreds of users  at an incredible rate.

I believe that the cloud is not just another buzzword, but is definitely where the future of productivity lives – working in a web browser means there is less need to install and update local applications. Plus, it gives our employees extra flexibility to take work away from their desks onto mobile phones, tablets and other gadgets.

By deploying Google Apps, EAT. has avoided the upfront cost of building the infrastructure required to accommodate its aggressive expansion plans, without either wasting or having insufficient resources.

Ultimately, it all adds up. With Google Apps for Business, our costs, risks, and storage usage shrank considerably while our user satisfaction, productivity and revenue opportunities multiplied. We are now able to allocate more time and resources to activities that really matter – good service and quality food

concludes Cesar Ramanauskas.

Steve Kaye, CEO, Cloud Technology Solutions, comments;

More and more growing companies are looking to the Cloud to provide collaboration and ease of access to users on the move. We were able to help EAT. migrate its system seamlessly from GroupWise to Google Apps and allow it to concentrate on its core business.
