Home / Our blog / Say hello to Google Workspace (and goodbye to G Suite, it's been fun!)

A short piece of internet research confirmed that Google’s productivity tools have been with us since 2006, 14 years in the making. Wow, how time flies. In our 10 years as a Google Cloud Premier Partner it’s fair to say we’ve seen some changes, including memorable additions of Hangouts (now Meet), Vault, Sites, DLP and all the various mobile apps. There have been a few names GMail for your Domain > Google Apps > GSuite and now Google Workspaces.

Last week Google briefed CTS on the latest iteration and forward thinking vision for the platform. Platform is 100% the right word for it, the workflows and interconnected nature of Workspace look great. It ‘feels’ even more intuitive than ever before. The new iconography is a nice touch, helping with navigation and grouping of the features, it appears fresh and appealing. Google has a tremendous track record of getting the user experience right and this is another good example of this.

At its core the suite has been all about that collaborative experience, helping people come together, work, share and get stuff done. In the current climate of COVID 19, this ethos has never been more relevant and front of mind. Our customers are unified in their ask for more help to make the new normal of working remote more connected.

As a longstanding Google Cloud partner, we’ll be arranging demonstrations and enablement work with our 1000+ customer base over the up and coming weeks / months. As has always been the case, the effort put into change management and enablement has always had a remarkable impact on our customers' employees to ensure they get the most out of their investments in Google technologies.

“Training and change management is in our DNA at CTS, our materials and programs are focused on helping teams build new work patterns and behaviours to get the most out of the collaboration benefits of Google Workspace“

Allegra Monico, Google Workspace Training Lead

“Work is becoming increasingly distributed,” said Carolee Gearhart, Global Channel Chief at Google Cloud. “We’re proud to launch Google Workspace, and to work with our partners like CTS to help customers leverage Google Workspace to collaborate, communicate, and stay connected.”
